Parent Involvement in Sports

Parents play many important roles in sport — as current or former athletes, coaches, fans, motivators, role models, and sometimes even critics. Their influence reaches far beyond the sidelines. Research shows that family members may shape an athlete’s involvement, confidence, and long-term achievement in sports even more than coaches do.

 

Parents are often the first and most impactful agents in socializing children into sports. They introduce the game, model attitudes toward competition and teamwork, and help shape how young athletes define success — whether it’s about winning, improving skills, or simply having fun.

  • Encourage healthy competition

  • Promote strong work ethic and commitment

  • Support emotional well-being​

When parents provide consistent encouragement, balanced expectations, and unconditional support, they help create an environment where young athletes can thrive — both in sport and in life.

Forms for Your Athlete's Season

Here you’ll find all the necessary forms for your kiddo’s volleyball season. If you have any questions, please reach out to us anytime!

 

Once your athlete accepts a written offer from ULVBC to join a team, we will need the following completed via our Google Form:

 

  1. USAV Medical Release – Each player must complete this form.

  2. Proof of Age – Provide a copy of a birth certificate, passport, or driver’s license for each player.

  3. Spectator Code of Conduct – Each parent must sign.

  4. ULVBC Handbook & Expectations –

  • Players sign the Player Expectations / Code of Conduct form.

  • Parents sign the Parent Expectations form.

Important: All completed documents must be emailed to upperleftvolleyball@gmail.com. Do NOT give these documents to your athlete’s coach.

Costs & Program Details

Club Association Fees

Amount: $100 (one-time fee)

Due: As soon as you sign the acceptance letter.

Note: This fee is required for every player.

U12 Girls Summit | Season Investment: $1,400

​

Includes:

  • Team practices and gym time

  • Up to 6 local tournaments

  • Athlete training and development

  • Team uniforms

U14 Rising | Season Investment: $2,000

​

Includes:

  • Team practices

  • Up to 6 local tournaments

  • Athlete Training and Development 

  • Team uniforms

​

U15 Elevate | Season Investment: $2,000

​

Includes:

  • Team practices

  • 5–6 local tournaments

  • Athlete Training and Development 

  • Team uniforms

​

U16 Premier | Season Investment: $2,400

Includes:

  • Team practices

  • 5–6 tournaments

  • 1–3 out-of-state tournaments Registration Fees

  • Team uniforms

Additional Costs

  • Players are responsible for an equal share of the coaches' travel expenses, including airfare and hotel accommodations. Costs will vary depending on the tournament location and the number of out-of-state tournaments attended.

  • Players are responsible for their own airfare (if flying) and hotel accommodations.

  • Parents may choose to have Upper Left Volleyball Club coordinate flights and hotel accommodations to help ensure the team stays together at the same hotel and in the same area during tournaments.

U17/U18 Elite | Season Investment: $2,400

​

Includes:

  • Team practices

  • 5–6 tournaments

  • Entry fees for up to 3 out-of-state Tournament Registration Fees

  • Team uniforms

  • Additional Costs

    • Players are responsible for an equal share of the coaches' travel expenses, including airfare and hotel accommodations. Costs will vary depending on the tournament location and the number of out-of-state tournaments attended.

    • Players are responsible for their own airfare (if flying) and hotel accommodations.

    • Parents may choose to have Upper Left Volleyball Club coordinate flights and hotel accommodations to help ensure the team stays together at the same hotel and in the same area during tournaments.​​​​

Payment Information

To secure your roster spot, the following payment schedule applies:

  • Initial Payment (Due upon acceptance): $500

    • $100 – Club Association Fee (non-refundable)

    • $400 – Applied toward your season club fees

  • Second Payment (Due in November): $1,000

  • Final Payment (Due in February):

    • Remaining balance of your season club fees.

Please Note:

  • All payments must be made according to the payment schedule unless prior arrangements have been approved by Upper Left Volleyball Club.

  • Additional travel expenses (if applicable) are separate from club dues and will be billed as needed.
